In a nutshell
🎯 We are currently recruiting an Databricks Consultant / Data Engineer to support one of our client’s teams.
Location: Fully Remote
Contract Type: Freelance / Contract
Duration: Minimum 12 months
Daily Rate: CHF 300/day (fixed rate)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Databricks.
- Build scalable ETL/ELT processes for structured and semi-structured data.
- Develop data transformations using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Optimize Spark jobs, data models, and queries for performance and cost efficiency.
- Implement and manage Delta Lake architectures and data quality processes.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to understand data requirements.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and documentation of data solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with strong hands-on expertise in Databricks.
- Strong knowledge of Apache Spark / PySpark, Python, and SQL.
- Experience with data lakes, Delta Lake, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms, ideally Azure and Azure Databricks.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Professional level of English.
Additional Information
- This is a fully remote role.
- Long-term assignment with a minimum commitment of one year.
- Fixed daily rate: CHF 300/day.
