This position reports to: Business Line MV Drives Service Operations Manager __ As Engineering Team Leader, you will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers supporting modernization and upgrade projects for medium voltage drives within Motion Service Switzerland. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and timely engineering solutions while ensuring efficient resource planning, team development, and achievement of contractual and financial targets. Working closely with Project Management, Field Service, and Sales, you will drive technical excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across engineering activities. The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, ensuring effective resource planning and capability development Deliver high-quality engineering solutions for modernization and upgrade projects, ensuring compliance with customer, safety, cybersecurity, quality, schedule, and cost requirements Collaborate closely with Project Management, Field Service, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and installation activities Provide technical leadership, feasibility assessments, and engineering support during the sales and bid phases Drive continuous improvement, technical excellence, risk management, and the implementation of ABB values, HSE, integrity, and compliance standards Qualifications for the role: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred) Minimum 5 years of professional experience in engineering Strong background in power electronics Experience in service / modernization projects (retrofits, upgrades) Proven leadership experience (managing 2–6+ engineers). Strong technical understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering processes Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to work collaboratively with Project Management and Field Service team Fluent in English; German preferred Additional Information Occasional travel (<10%) within the operational network (e.g., Finland, Poland, USA) Building a cleaner, smarter future takes all kinds of minds: the curious, the courageous, and the creative.
